Josie Long
Owner/Lead Designer
Josie Long, a native of Richmond Virginia made Smith Mountain Lake her permanent residence when she purchased the business in 2018.
She believes good design should excite the eye as soon as you walk in and tell a story through every detail within the space. She prefers to think outside the box when creating environments for her clients that embraces and inspires them.
She loves mixing old with new- antiques can bring visual interest, warmth, and legacy into a setting. The center of her design approach is form and function which she believes is key to good design.
Jane Powell
Administrative Assistant
Jane comes from an accounting background. She was a Controller in the hospitality industry for many years. She decided to change careers and went in commercial construction management to finish her career and retire. Upon retiring she wanted to do something part time and totally different. The opportunity to join MJL Design for showroom sales became available. She has found the perfect job and loves being a part of such a great organization!
